landed around 0640hrs
decided to fill more details for my own records and hopefully better understanding when is it the best time to be fishing. landed close to shore, lure: Maria Fake Bait. lots of debris, brackish muddy water. dead slow cranking just pushing water surface, occasionally darting into its depth, repeat dead slow cranking.
environment was quiet, wind was weak, water was calm, very suitable for top water lures.


as i was packing up my reels. i was reminded of the one that landed me this bugger. it felt like i owe it to him. 2nd trip with it landed a fish.
to be fair, with its credits. i decided to add in these details for reference.

before run in. the reel is as solid as it looks. while cranking, quiet as it seems. the clicker is nice. holding it in my hands, was very eager for its clicker to go off. finally a cooperative kim makes its day.

That kbl looks pretty big but I must say you're pretty stingy on the image size. Can share with us did the fish hit right after the dart or during the slow crank? Very nice catch as usual.

I see your standards of catches are higher than mine. Images you embed here don't take up space at all since you uploaded it at photobucket (they are the one storing your pictures). Webspace consumed on HLF forums are mostly just the text(posts), and they take very little space compared to images.

Don't worry, if posting images did take up space the first person I'll go after is dBs.

rumour has it 水清无鱼, fishes don't hunt when the water is clear. at about 9am i could look into depths of roughly 2m. just when i was about give up for the day. . . 9am is way to early to retire for the day so i decided to practise working maria's, mini pop queen. to my astonishment, this friendly kim came to check it out. but he just wouldn't hit it. on the other hand, the size of the pop queen, i was worried it might be sucked deep into its throat. to avoid such unfortunate event, i changed to maria's fake bait. because the bottom is snaggy, fake bait served just nice. dead slow cranking, darting it slightly into its depth. friendly kim missed its first attempt, i kept calm and resumed action patience paid off

Nice catch on the queenie and kbl, you sure have one heck of a spot. I like how you managed to kept calm and kept going, a lot of people would get excited and frantically lure out of rhythm.

Those kbls just keep coming at you, you have my envy. This one almost got the hooks on its eye, this is why trebles can be so dangerous even to the anglers. Very nice catch.
