The One That Got Away 2012

Post by sgpu »

had a nice encounter. then i realised i had long forgotten how to tighten drag.

Then i had another, not sure was it a worthy fighter or was it that i'd lost the touches. anyway . . .

i was doing skidding crank, followed by occasional popped, paused repeating skidding speed crank again.

presenting to you, maria, pop queen 'mini'. once, its hooked opened, and i had all minis' hook replaced. i guess the original were not suitable for decent size.

Nice comeback SGPU, you'll be in your top gear in no time. ;) That must have some toothy fish to chew through that assist hook. Great kim there too, I didn't know you still use stock hooks. :mischieve:

the one that got away . . .

it feigned death while i was snapping picture of it. in a rush to revive it, i forgotten to check its weight. #$%T^&
it was a cloudy about to rain 10am. i decided to jig a lumo 30gram. though it was dim sun shine, but with the light it was enough to illuminate it. random between impactful jig, let it sink then light jig with 2 fast crank retrieving slack line, repetitively. the take was during the sink.

lost the jig, not sure where it went, not sure if the queenie swallowed it or dropped it in the midst of lip gripping it. lost my pliers too  . . . while i was reviving it in the water. what luck . . .

rod: north fork connection 6ft, line weight 10 - 17lbs, lure weight up to 1oz
reel: 2508 daiwa
line: spiderwire 8lbs
shock leader: line system FC 16lbs
snap: Cultiva Cross Rock Snap size 1.5
swivel: sasame size 10

That is possible, this sometimes happen to me too which made me turn to using cross lock swivels. It does takes a little more effort to open though.

Nice one again, it seems that you can make the kims take any strokes of your lures. :D
