Went to one of my usual spots with my fishing buddy, was targeting stingrays, but the current was strong and fast... So I caught them instead... :D At 3am, got the Duri,
fought for abt 15 minutes, and at 4am, I got the eel tail 1. Both got on my 7ft spinning boat rod. Interestingly, I "recaught" the 2nd Catfish, cause I lost it 1st time, as I was brewing coffee when it strike. Fought for good 5 minutes, kept diving down, went to right, paused then dived to left, round the pillar and snapped the line.😑 Retied and rebaited, cast towards inside, fought it for about 10 minutes, landed without gaff, risky cause 15lb leader, and it was struggling a bit. When i unhooked it, saw my 15 lb leader line from the break coming out of its mouth, the hook lodged in the throat... Fried the Duri, and make fish fillet with the Sembilan, delicious! 😁 Apparently the preparation process was abit tedious, but worth it. 1 thing I couldn't wrap my head around was that the Eeltail could survive out of water in my icebox, and another hour in a pail with tapwater... Very hardy fish...
Lastly I need help in ID the small fish... It Makes Croaking Noise when landed, it ate seaworm on hook, same rod... 🤔

Sounds like an exciting night. :D The golden colour one is what they called "Kim Seng", usually regarded as the better than the white ones, not as common as well. Most catfish has very good meat texture, the eeltail ones are especially good. The dishes you made looks delicious! The last one should be a Belanger's Croaker.

Thanks for sharing with us your catches.
