A long weekend for everyone ... we spend it fishing almost everyday ! :D
Re-revisited a long forgotten old spot.
What greeted us was big schools of tamban bait fish.
I had fun jigging them as bait for the guys.

Nothing fantastic was landed.
Simon the lucky one with fun playing with 4 stingray which gave us some moments of excitement.
Fishes were all released after a quick photo session. :yay:

Great catches from you guys, Simon must be holding onto a 'Stingray charm' somewhere. The sightings of baitfishes are always good signs of bigger fishes lurking below. Did you try luring near the school of fishes?

I'm out of luck in fishing but nevertheless there are still fishes out there to support me. :p Two days of fishing only got me these two. Released the cobia I caught today, it's Vesak Day ya. ;)

Alright ... here's the belated cr.

Angie the super star again ... drawing the crowds with her magical powers.
Neighbouring anglers can only stare from a distance drooling .....
I was very lucky that day but ...

raspiritz was even more lucky than me
We goes edging quite often but he will only catch squid once in a blue moon
no matter how hard he try.
This nite proves us wrong ... he not only landed squids, cuttlefish ... even an octopus!

Now raspiritz can chip in his "feel" when we talk about edging. :yay:
He had fun with them all night long !
He ditched his fishing rod in Simon's care n hold on tight to my squid rod
till we end the night around 3am catching nothing but squid squid squids.

Wah raspiritz showing his tentacles power that night, he must have had the whole night of fun to himself. ;) You all must have been to distract to land any fishes! As for me, I can hardly land anything these days. I kind of feel like I'm routinely coming to feed the fish every week.

I did however catch a palm size trevally, I let the little fellow off...this time. :mischieve:

This thread not moving ... time to pick up your fishing rod Peacy! :clover:

Went for a short trip last night, just to relax n enjoy some breeze.
Arm with just some prawns bought from Sheng Shiong.
It lasted us whole night till way pass midnight.

The atmosphere was quiet with the gentle breeze
and occasional waves hitting against the wall.
we sipped kopi mocha while enjoying looking at the rod tip nodding nodding whole night.
Simon was kept busy feeding the fish.
some many saddle grunter landed.
Smaller than a palm so all cnr.

During high tide, saw many many good size flower crab swam pass to say hello.
I tried hooking them with jig n lure but fruitless.
With a quick thinking ...
removed one of the tremble hook from my lure, add a sinker
there I have my new crab killer weapon.
I did land a nice one but thought it's too cute to be eaten
It's lucky day, we send it home after photo session.

What A Night !

Went surf casting according to plan with the squids we caught over the week.
Reached spot ... tide low exposing the sandy beach.
All took position n set up their tackles.
Jessie n angie went hunt for more squid as bait.

Lime juice ended casting at a bright but not too friendly spot.
spot has too much obstacles when retrieving.
angie went search for an opening not far and lime juice took to position again.
It was a slice of juicy squid ...
Merely seconds after he casted, leaning his rod by the railing
as he forgotten to bring a rod stand n none had spare
His rod dived to the floor suddenly n he was swift enough to stop it from flying into sea. lol!
It was a nice 600g Ang Zhor on his yellow Horizon.
A nice beginning. :yay:

Photo session took place n all spirits were high.
Just as we were still joking around with limejuice ...
raspiritz's Team Diawa rod took a nose dived n line started peeling out ...
For one moment none was sure if its a fish or not ...
the next second all got even more excited
it has to be a fish running away with another piece of our yummy squid!
A short fight n piak!
Fish won! Hip hip Hurray!
Guess raspiritz got over excited
You don't get to see line flying off your reel on shore fishing too often.

There's always another time. :clover:

Realizing the potential in this new spot ... we will be back for more! :mischieve:

Way the go Limejuice, great catch there with the snapper. Looks like the fresh squids are working like a charm, and you can even get live squids from there as well. Too bad for Ian, hope you can beat the fish on the next round ;) Well done on the cuttlefish and squids as well, you guys sure know how to get everything out of that spot. ;)

I did a little fishing over the weekend as well. Catches aren't that impressive but a manage to catch myself a few smallies for dinner. A biggie caught me by surprised when it took off with a chocolate hind I was retrieving back. The line snapped after awhile, I think the line was cut by rocks or something. A few seconds later the biggie break water from afar, I think it should be a queenie. It left line burns on my fingers.

I also encountered a school of trevallies feeding on tamban fries, I used tamban hooks but they were too much for my hooks and keep plucking my hooks off like feathers. I only managed to land two of them.
