dBs & LK Team on SC3188J ~ 2009

Post by dBs™ »

* not wanting to "overload" the previous thread with uncle fong ...i have decided to open another thread for this memorable trip with the LK Team.

I received an sms from woofie after the first trip to the southern ...
if we can arrange another trip in Changi waters before the next trip to the Southern again.
Gladly agreed and quickly fix a date with uncle Fong.
It was easy task to coordinate with woofie and friends ... we seems to have very good rapport. :D

All were excited about this trip ... I have added pressure as I myself suffering from dry spell !
Started the day with no bite at all ... after a few change of spot ...
uncle Fong decided to anchored his boat somewhere to wait, something quite unusual.
Me and woofie couldn't hold out longer ... ended up playing with prawn meat.
We successfully tricked 4 little leng chiam after having all our live prawns stolen away.
I was thinking to myself ...jialat liaoz ... dry spell continuing ?

eminorchua gave us hope when he landed the first decent size fish ... a trevelly.
I remember hearing him shouted out,"what is this fish?"
Shortly after that, he had a good take and gave us a ray of light this time.
It's a Chermin!
A first for him and we were all excited by now.
He gave us hope and brought us luck.
It was fun fun fun all the way from there ...
interesting events took place again n again ...
we were submerged in laughter and more laughters ...
with myself trying very very hard not to scream out loud !

There was the greedy parrot which ate the dropped "meat" which gonefishing threw into water ...
A double set hook in one ang zhor by gonefishing and me ...
A queen which tricked woofie believing she has lost it but in fact the queen was charing towards her at high speed.
I was tricked by her in a way but ... the landing was captured on video! ::x:
Was told ..."don't post my video hor ....wait u said i nv say ..." hehe...
coz she forgotten to tell me that the last trip ... ;)

I will still share the video here in HLF with friends and all ...
coz I really enjoy every seconds and minutes of fishing together with you guys.
It's definitely very enjoyable and entertaining.
Will remember those wonderful and funny moments with those short video takes. :yay:

Uncle Fong is the man of the day with the biggest catch and most catch and most species landed.
Thats a 3's ! He has proof his skill again ...
Landed the 3Kg Kaci on light tackle and thin main line. :shh:
Just as I was telling him we did not have a grouper yet which is kinda weird ...
He brought up one nice jade eyed monster for our dinner later the day.

Not wanting to write further coz I seriously hate to write ...
the pics tell a better story than I can write and enjoy the video which I will be uploading later ...

Enjoy the pics and we are awaiting another happening trip with you guys real soon ... :clover:

It was a fantastic dinner ... thank you eminor ... that was the best tasting chermin I ever had.
Yes ... I do not know how to cook fish !
So it's the chef problem and not fish's not nice. lol !
Forget to thank woofie ... for preparing the yummy bak chang for us.
The weather was super hot ... we had no appetite for food, keep drowning ourself with ice water.
She gave 2 to uncle Fong and I took home the rest.
Now I know why it has attracted the parrot ...

Thanks guys for the dinner and bak chang.
Next time we eat at Changi ok ? ;)

What a happening trip, an icebox full of fishes and the interesting hookups. I think the bak zhang must have some secret ingredient in that makes it so alluring that even fishes can't resist. That Ang Zho must be pretty greedy to snatch two hooks at a go, but then again it could be possible that it knows death is at hand, might as well take another whack at it. ;p

Very nice catch report, I love seeing all the fights in the videos. Keep up the good catch, I look forward to the report on your next trip.

Was having coffee with my jie jie and simon that day ...

Now I know ... the story about Dragon Boat Festival 端午节 is true.

"Traditional story holds that the festival commemorates the death of poet Qu Yuan (c. 340 BC - 278 BC) of the ancient state of Chu, in the Warring States Period of the Zhou Dynasty. A descendant of the Chu royal house, Qu served in high offices. However, when the king decided to ally with the increasingly powerful state of Qin, Qu was banished for opposing the alliance. Qu Yuan was accused of treason. During his exile, Qu Yuan wrote a great deal of poetry, for which he is now remembered. Twenty-eight years later, Qin conquered the Chu capital. In despair, Qu Yuan committed suicide by drowning himself in the Miluo River on the fifth day of the fifth month.

It is said that the local people, who admired him, threw food into the river to feed the fish so that they would not eat Qu Yuan's body. This is said to be the origin of zongzi. The local people were also said to have paddled out on boats, either to scare the fish away or to retrieve his body. This is said to be the origin of dragon boat racing."

So its true ... Fishes feed on Bak Changs ... The glutinous rice hard to digest so they keep it in their mouth.

Good to see everyone enjoying out at sea.

That's a good one Tere.
Thanks for the story ... I was about to do it. :D
It was really a fun filled trip.

Time to join us for some offshore fun .... quit squiddy !
The thrill of fish pilling pulling is magnificent ! Indescribable ! Fantastic !

Something to share ...
Remember the Bangkok trip I went with my mum earlier on this year ...
She is a Buddhist who believes and will not want to kill any living things with her own hands ...
Refused to fish ! ok lor nvm ... let her sit sit n relax at a corner got tv got food to keep her busy ...
then then ... I being a cannot sit still person ... bought many loafs of bread to play with the huge tilapia fishes there ...
You know what ... she got curious ...sat nearer and watched ...
Before long ... she was handling a hand line and having fun pulling up those little fishes.
Of course all were cnr.

Thats goes to show the pulling power of the fishes is 100% poisoning regardless of age.
