It's not a very bad trip, I think you got your expectations pegged to the first trip. Too bad vidic lost the fish, it can be seen from the video that the fish is probably holds quite a bit of weight. I think the line was drifted far so it takes quite a bit of retrieving to lift the fish off the seabed. It is more likely that the boat has drifted across a structure, ie. a drop off causing the snag.
