This was a last minutes trip with Kevin and friends.
Received a call from Kevin to join them fishing with uncle Fong ...
Few sms send out to kakis and trip was confirmed.
I was still down with a bad throat infection since returning from Rompin ...
Managed to pull myself out from bed to go fishing.
We got lucky this time ... not landing big fishes
But witness the landing of a giant Shovelnose Ray !

Catch rate for the day was really bad ... despite shifting here there everywhere ...
Fishes just refused to bite.
I was sleeping most of the time ... made worst with the terribly hot weather.
Was shaken up when uncle Fong shouted "shark!"
It was a big shovelnose ray ... "playing waters"
Ah Chong and another boatman was trying hard to capture it but failed.
It was eventually landed with the help of uncle Fong.
This is the first time I took home a big fat egg !
Despite the low bite rate ... it was all made up with very friendly kakis.
And a super duper delicious dinner after the fishing trip !

Wow, this is better than that news article. Live pics and videos from that day, sure worth the trip to encounter such a monster and at this close range. Two giant fishes floating within the span of few weeks is really something hard to come by. I guess fishoes will be armed with extra items when they go boat fishing at Changi waters now: Binoculars and spearguns.
