A 2nd trip with uncle Fong since the last trip around Chinese New Year's time.

We have with us for the first time ... a pretty xiao mei mei !

Always see aunties in my cr sianz right ?
Something refreshing for a change.

Other than the sweet pretty face who fish for the first time with us, it's the usual aunty dBs, uncle Simon,
uncle Banzy, aunty woofie and uncle oinky !

The oil spill thingy is not going to dampen the modd as we have waited for this day with excitement.
As we boarded SC3188J and move off from the jetty ...
Each hope for a replay just like the last trip ...

We rarely do offshore fishing with uncle Fong on a Sunday.
And we had to keep in Q at aunty's farm to buy prawns and ice.
As we were loading the ice blocks n baits ... another boat came along joining the Q ...
Business was brisk ~

xiao mei mei investigating the live baits ... this is her first offshore fishing trip.
A total newbies !

Scott also know who to stick to ... pretty mei mei of course !

Scott having a fun time this trip.
No sign of sea sickness and enjoying every minutes on board uncle Fong's boat.

Scott kept most of us busy ... tending and playing with him as the fishes refused to bite the whole morning.
Wind was kinda brining the smell of oil spill towards our direction.
It was so strong ... almost felt like we had sniffed glue !

Uncle Fong tried his best to shift spots again n again ...
But no matter where we go ..the oily smell followed us.
We almost thought will be having live prawns cooked in four style at the end of the day. lol !

The land fill had a long blacken stretch of oil spills ...
Really have to eat steam prawns, chili prawns, deep fried prawns and drunken prawns heh ?

Weather was moody ...
We had sunshine with strong wind n current in the morning ... brining us plenty of oil smell.
Then wash it all away with darken clouds and rain ... forcing us to take shelter in the cabin.
That's not all ... we were showered with rainbows after that ... several spotted here n there.
Pretty rainbows laying across the blue sky ... hinting to us ... it's time to fish !

And guess what ... the newbies luck thingy strikes again !

A beautiful parrot fish followed with a whopping 2Kg snapper for a first timer at fishing.

It's always poisoning to catch fish especially big once on first try.
You be hooked to fishing for life ... yearning for more and bigger fishes! ;p

And what happen to all the experience aunty and uncle ?
Each of us manged to bring up at least one fish from Changi waters.
Each a winner on their own ... none a zero fighter.
But it's the sweet young thing who beat all the old gingers at the end of the day !

As the catch was almost zero for the whole morning till late noon ...
Uncle Fong brought up a small grouper which really puts a smile on everyone.
Heng ah ... got fish to eat le !

It's towards the evening when the current was clam n water turns clear ...
bite rate started to pick up.
Banzy hit a good size silver grunter and myself trying my luck at it with a last minute 3Kg ten pounder.
The sudden take was strong and powerful with a free display of water stunts ...
The usual screaming and laughters rounded all the other boats who were fishing nearby to park near the area. lol !

Consider ourselves very lucky coz at least we had 3 decent size fish on our dinner table and none went home empty handed.
Scott was the happiest among all ...
He had the 2Kg snapper all to himself over 3 meals ~

What better way to enjoy our own catch ...
It's fresh and super duper delicious !
A nice dinner over jokes and small talks to catch up about the trip ...
before we pull our body home for a good rest.

Alright folks ... till the next trip in October ...
It's time to work hard for now !

I see some familiar faces, and a new one as well. She certainly does have a newbie's luck, that's for sure. Just how bad is the oil spill affecting Changi waters? It didn't look that bad from the pictures, but then again I'm not there with you guys to smell it.

Nice catches no less, you guys always manage to land a biggie for dinner.

Yes yes yes ... prawns from aunty's farm ... no matter how you cook it ... it tase simply delicious !
I love it plain steam ... sweet n "crispy" !

Ten pounder .... wonderful fighting fish ... powerful with strong runs !
I had an encounter with them once some some time last year or the year before ...
It was a horrible trip for me ... zero fighter all the way till the last 15 mins before calling it a day ...
I was blessed with 15 minutes of thrill from 3 ten pounders ...
One after another ...
Went home with head held real high and the rest full of envy !
Yes ... it's definitely worth the long wait !

It's the thrill and fight that makes us high ....

Hmmmm .... aunty n uncle missing in actions ... ?

Well ... I guess all of us had a fun day accompany a newbie on her maiden offshore fishing trip.
