Chia Soon Kelong is situated offshore from Pasir GoGok - Johor.

Invited by pyl to join his group of friends for a 2D1N stay on Chia Soon Kelong.
Gamely accepted the invitation and here we are with myself and Simon, Crist, Oinky and Woofie ... 5 of us on our way to the Kelong.

Very excited as it's our first trip onto this Kelong.
It's gonna be a refreshing change from the high-rise and bustling living in our Singapore city.
An excellent excuse for feasting too ... Kelong trips tends to make you eat eat eat till you drop ...hahaha
For me ... just go and enjoy ... the cool sea breeze and everything else that is awaiting us ~

Verdict after returning from Chia Soon : Fishing Heaven near to home !

Food was good and plentiful ... fishing was fun ... place was clean ... a wonderful location for a family weekend getaway.

Traveling to the Kelong was a breeze !
Departure at Changi Point Ferry Terminal, a place we are so familiar with.
Each time we enter the terminal for offshore trips, I always wonder what this Penggarang counter is for ...
Now I got the answer. lol !

You will be lead to custom counter by the boatman for all necessary procedures * for exit and entrance into Malaysia
Best part ... you don't have to lug along your heavy "luggage" when you going for passport stamping at the Malaysia side custom.
Just leave them in the bum-boat and bring yourself and passport into the custom complex.
On arrival at the Kelong ... a friendly uncle will assign room in the form of cubicles with draw string curtains for privacy.
Sleeping area is clean, mattress is a little old but the sheets are clean :)
Once all your group members arrived ... as each bum-boat takes only 12 pax
The Kelong guy will come ask if you need to get supplies like can drinks, ciggy etc ...
They will take a speed boat out to the main island to get the supplies for you.
Of course you need to pay.

We bought 1 kg of live prawns from Changi pro as bait.
The Kelong do supply you with baits so don't worry if your live prawns run out.

Toilet facilities were clean.
3 mens and 3 ladies ... comes with well supplied toilet paper.
Clean pipped water and there are wash basin located around the Kelong for anglers to use.

Food ? Need I say more ...
Dinner was good, BBQ supper was great.
The BBQ stingray was a little on the spicy side.
But the chicken wings was very nice to eat.
We finished every single pcs of it and the guarding angels of the fish farm ( 4 lovely doggies )
get the bones as supper.
The famous breakfast porridge was fabulous.
Have read quite abit on it on the internet so I was really looking forward to taste it.
Didn't disappoint me ... porridge was smooth and cook with fish meat. Love the crispy fish bits added.

Food food food ... how about fishing ?
If you are going for a weekend getaway and at the same time do some fishing ...
This place is great.
If you are in for some serious fishing ... you need to hit the right tides and pray for good weather. ;)

So much so for this trip ... we enjoyed ourselves ... definitely going back for some serious fishing ! :fish: :fish2:

Very nice writeup, dBs. Very useful indeed for those intending for a quick fishing getaway at a Kelong. The proximity to Singapore and the convenience is a big motivation to go there. The place looks clean and neat, I'll definitely consider visiting that Kelong at least once. :)
