A third trip to Chia Soon Kelong ... I am/We are as excited as the first.
The first time we were there ... we had no expectation, just wanna have some fun.
Relax, chit-chat with friends and eat eat eat till you drop.
The second trip ... we are better equipped and has a small level of expectation.
And boy was our prayers answered in a most appropriate way.
The sound of screaming reel !
This 3rd trip ... we are full of anticipation.
Some are first timers and for the few öld birds, we couldn't wait to set foot on the Kelong.
We were expecting crowds since it's a long weekend due to Good Friday ...
I was in cahoot with pyl to kapoh the equipments and best fishing spot in the kelong.
As planned ... we were the first and only group to arrive !
Yes ... 10 happy anglers having the WHOLE kelong all to ourselves and at the same price.
Yippy .... we can do whatever we want ... fish where ever we want !!!
Yes. A mission to accomplished.
First, need to be very sure pyl catches his first decent fish at the kelong.
Else he said he won't return ever again.
Secondly ... it's a trip more or less specially for yuheng coz it's his birthday.
I tried very hard not to cancel this trip so as not to disappoint yuheng.
Hope you had fun with us and here's an extremely belated ... HAPPY BIRTHDAY !!!

The father & son team was fantastic ... quick to take position and they were the first to hauled up first and decent catch among the group.
Yuheng had fun with the "hard-tail", hooking up one after another right under the kelong.
Raymond had us all excited with the first grouper catch, our target for this trip !
The worst fear hit us shortly ... it started to rain !
All were trapped inside the kelong and started to lament ... "no wonder nobody want to come lor ..." lol !
The rain didn't prevent the young ones to have fun.
Pretending to put on rain coat ... the three musketeers was playing in the rain !
Zipping in and out to check baits, re-bait ... just so they can get wet.
Well ... just let them have some fun then.

Weather is extremely unpredictable nowadays ...
It was pouring like cats and dogs for one moment ...didn't last too long.
We were all out in force dropping bait into the water when the rain stopped.
And the surprises keep coming, coming and coming ....

All of us were kept very busy ....
Some choose to fish at the lower platform, some enjoys the waiting game while some of us were digging "gold" from little holes in the kelong.
But one thing for sure ... the catch got bigger and bigger !

I am sure pyl had fun in this trip and thanks for inviting us to join you and your friends on the first trip.
We wouldn't have come to know about Chia Soon if not for you.

Chia Soon Kelong is definitely one interesting little place to relax and have some fun.
Only wish they will change their menu ... at least for once. hahahahaha ....
And do accept my apology for the long long wait for this CR.
I hope the pics and most important the catches didn't disappoint you/us.
For friends and kakis who didn't make it for this trip ...
Hope the cr makes you gian and drools ! lol !
But I promise and you know very well ... there will definitely be another trip to Chia Soon Kelong.

There isn't much videos or pics which I can use for this CR.
All of us were fishing far apart from each other ... scattered everywhere in the kelong.
I was also indulged in pulling up fishes then whipping out the camera to snap pics instead.
Here's two just for laughs ... and I finally found a successor for the loud screaming !

Some extra information which I missed out ...
The golden "hole" has being sealed off !
No more playing in the hole ... sad sad sad.
But ...
thanks to the kelong owner for stopping us from playing there.
It had us walking around and finally found the gold mine.
They probably needed the extra space for breeding fishes thus a new net has been set up in that treasure hole.
A wired net was nailed fix to cover it up.
Well ... who want to play there now ?
Right Vidic ? hehehehe
Did not have a pic of total catch of the trip.
Some were already packed and sealed nicely in ice boxes.
One thing for sure though ... all had nice fishes to go home with.

Cant say much....bwahahaha ~ Its an open secret for those onboard with us, close for those who are not.
Very relaxing place indeed !
Grouper and stingray paradise ! They have all species of grouper, looks like groupers are dominating that place, till we fish up something else beneath
Food was delicious too ~ Butter prawns were fried crispy, a snack delight for the youngsters like Crist & Hongjun, who practically snap up most of them ~ Then came the steam fishes(fresh !), black pepper crab(spicy pepper ! sweet meat !), steamboat(delicious soup !), Chia Soon porridge ~ which i enjoyed very much. Makes me drool as i type.
Thanks dBs for organising this trip ~ I enjoyed it very much, heh ~

But handline has an advantage cause get fish those guys under the kelong.

Heh, I didn't know there was a handline craze over at the Kelong, they are definitely very useful for yanking up those groupers hiding below. Excellent CR, I think many who sees this will be queuing to take a booking on the next trip.

Then i shall use 65lbs braid with 70-80 pound shockleader to drag the bugger up!
~ which i enjoyed very much. Makes me drool as i type.
