boarding ah soon's boat at the changi ferry terminal (his contact: 97302410) i think he is considering of increasing his price le. the fuel price went up too much for them (boatman) to absorb.
bait: live prawns and dead ones
the most effective rig for the day is apollo double hooks rig. whole rig measures about 1m with 2 hooks in between. landed about 6 pieces of decent sized groupers. boatman's method of fishing adopted. drifting.
most fishes landed timing about 3.30pm. kims, all the decent size groupers, and my big snapper.
Peace: ah soon is probably the one of the few very hardworking i'd known. he shift spots from time to time, when there's no bites, landed species are undesirable, sung kut rate too high, than no catches etc . . . yea i recommend his service.

That's a pretty good catch, it does make me want to try Ah Soon. The snapper is very fat, it really stands out in that pile of fishes. Still my favourite fish are those tasty deep sea kbls. Very informative CR, readers who wish to test out similar tides can follow your way.

Congrats to all on board this trip and of course sgpu for landing the big fat zho !
I notice something very interesting ... you know what ?
All anglers dressed smartly !
Looks more for work than leisure to me ...hahaha
So I guess it's their first offshore fishing trip organized by kind and friendly sgpu ?
I have not tried any other boatman in Changi other than uncle Fong.
He has increased his fee from $350 to $400 recently.
Though it's alot more expensive ... we still feel more comfortable fishing with uncle Fong.
So ... PAY lor.

LOL
yeah they are either self employed, or 'no businessmen' retirees. it just the way they dress. one of them is already 81 and still going strong. bought himself a fish finder, going to test it out this 5th june.
why don't you test ah soon out and come back with some feedbacks? but i believe uncle fong sails further. because i was watching for his 3188.

Yes ! That's is one of the reasons why we use uncle Fong ...
He travels out to the max ... any further he crosses into Malaysia's border.
He is also well know for chiong-ing into restricted areas ...
Thus the many summons he received ... all paid through his own pocket.
Won't be using any one else in Changi other than uncle Fong.
But when it's Southern ... my card is open to anyone at this moment still ...
Ricky will not be the only boatman we fish with.
