Ubin offshore again

I was invited for another trip around Ubin Kelongs for some light fishing. It was supposedly a good day to go fishing but we didn't expect a storm to tag along, the water conditions turned bad and the fishes aren't too keen to bite. We got some actions in the afternoon as the sky began to clear, it's not much but everyone managed to land something. :D

Thanks for the kind comment, I think there's always some fishes to be caught around Kelongs no matter how bad the conditions are. It's a fortress for them and it's difficult to catch them all with all the obstacles below. I lost two fish to the sharp underwater stilts that day despite lots of preemptive measures.

You need to be on guard holding your rod or line at all times, and roughly visualizing how the stilts are at the bottom. This can be felt when your sinker hits the bottom at different position, you'll find varying depths just a few feet around and which spot will most likely get snagged. Letting your line drift too far is also a bad idea as it will cross along sides of the stilts below, you will need to re-drop your lines or use heavier sinkers if it gets too far. You have to set your drag high and have quick reaction when the fish takes your bait.
