Offshore with Ah Shun

Like I said, another offshore trip.
This time boat out from Changi Village.
Boatman is Ah shun / soon. (not sure)
It was a Monday morning, reached changi v earlier to have breakfast.
armed with our fishing gears and 30 cans of beer, just in case it was a bad fishing day, the beers will cheer us up. lol.
there were 6 of us in total, exclusive of boatman.
first hook up was the small grouper, followed by the chermin.
then one of our friends was reeling up a big one, when reached the surface, we saw that it was a nice silvery KBL! nice size too! at least 2kg, when boatman running over with net, the fish turned and the fins cut the main line....absolute disappointment!
so moving on, we continued hooking up a few groupers.
then it was lunch time, so we sat in the boat having our lunch. suddenly the boat man shouted "someone got big fish!!!" my friend turned and saw his rod bending like mad!
he quickly put down his lunch and started fighting the fish!
it was a good 20 mins fighting with the fish and finally it surfaced up! it was a beautiful awesome threadfin! it was roughly 4.5kg!
I had 0 hook ups (again), until towards the end. got sick of losing my ranggongs to "sungkos", just changed to madai with prawn aka "hae dai". dropped my line, and was lighting up my ciggie when there's a sudden pull. stopped what I was doing and strike! got a table size grouper.
everyone caught something, except the boatman. lol, which was pretty unusual.
all in all, it was a awesome trip. didn't talk much with the boatman this time. we had lots of bites, kept losing our prawns, to don't know what. lol...
enjoy the pics!
