I caught a fish during a boat fishing trip near Pulau Ubin (images in attachment). Would like to know the exact species

[My guess would be some kind of croaker as it makes the croaking sound when landed. Maybe bigeye croaker (Pennahia anea)? ]

Yes, that's a bigeye croaker. Nice catch on this little fellow, they don't grow very big, at least not from what I've seen in local waters.
