Handliners @ FW3 ~ 12th December 2008

ring ring .... after some many call you call me call him ... finally find ourself at FW3 in bright daylight.
dBs, Simon and Tere arrived happily and proceed to an empty spot.
As the CNR pond will be closed on Sat for Sunday's competition, we went on Friday instead.
Upon arrival, the guys wasted no time to set up their tackle while I went to the counter to register
our arrival time as well as get some refreshments.
Before I even made it back to spot ... yii screamed to me Simon "zhong yu liao" kena fish.
As I ran back there ... can hear the zzzt zzzt of the reel from afar.
Tere said to me excitedly ... "It was basically ... cast and tio liaoz !".

Simon was all smile.
The tug of war began ...
Anglers beside Simon were all very cooperative, reeled back lines and watched in envy.
1/2 hour passed ... fish was going strong ... refused to show face.
All were crowding round to look see look see.
time was ticking away ... seeing the way the fish took the line from left to right repeatedly,
I setup my tackle and went play by the side of the pond.

1 hour passed. Crowd getting smaller and Simon was dancing cha cha by now ...
Joyful expression on his face disappeared.
Using a short butt rod, it was wrist power all the way.
He felt the pressure by now ... all were waiting excitedly to see the monster cat.

He did managed to forced the fish to near "bank" but the fin was still out of sight.
Again ... it stepped on the accelerator and you see the fish at the other end of the pond. lol !
1 1/2 hours passed .... by now the fish seems to have tired out abit.
Simon got it nearer and nearer to "bank" but still no sight of the fin at all!
I thought it's about time ... whip out camera to video the landing.
Want to know who the goal keeper was?

so at the end of the day only 1 fish strike but no land?

wow lau... really from day to night, bright to dark lor...
a bit wasted that fish not landed hor...

It must have been tiring to hang on till the moon came out, Simon sure has the perseverance! Too bad you guys didn't manage to get a glimpse of the fish, how big do you think the fish was? I'm sure you guys will not rest till you land it again.

That's not the scariest part ... the scarest part was when our good fun next "door" neighbour at FW3 decided to hook up a table sized Red Tilapia and cast out.

All of a sudden you hear his reel goes RRRRRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGG RRRRRRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNGGGGGGGGGGG !!!!!

They started off as one or two ... then a big bunch came ... they were a fun loving bunch just like dBs & Friends. They cheered on everytime the rods start bending "Go ! Go ! Go ! Go ! Aiiiiyaaaahhhhhhh !!!"

Most importantly they waited patiently while Simon was fighting his Big Kitty and really supportive too. It was really a long wait ... from sunset to moonrise till the moon was way above the coconut tree.
