We landed the monster ... his reel fumes!
Need to pour water to cool it down ~

Handliners @ FW3 ~ 19th December 2008


The nite kick start with Simon landing a Tilapia .
Again ... it was reach bait cast n fish on !
After which all was quiet for a long long time ... rest of gang joined us ...

We talked n laughed ... then came Tere brining dinner for almost famish Ian.
While he had dinner ... the fun begun ...
It seems like fishes know that you are busy ...they strike!
It was a tale of 1 fish 3 anglers fighting for it ...
caused a moment of confusion ...look here look there ...
I gently dropped bait into water almost like a direct drop from jetty while watching the boys fight for the 1 fish
Guess what ... my reel siren off loud and clear ...it's fish on for me!
While the boys sort out their confusion ... I landed a beautiful red tail catfish.
Was told it's a rare catch and I am truly happy.
My first catch @ FW3 ... all by myself from the hooking of the horrible looking chicken liver.

The nite belong to rookie the king.
While I was still soaking in the joy of landing a rare catch...
Rookie had a huge take and that spell another round of all lines up, take a seat and watch his solo performance.
Raspiritz came to his rescue, pouring water onto his already fuming reel
It was a tensed moment ... reel rod line or let fish go~
The photos has the answer ... rookie emerged the winner.
And that's not his only catch of the nite ...
We'll have to wait for Tere to continue from here ~

cos we are praying to god when is our turn to land 1 monster to post here.

Wow, the biggest pot of gold goes to Rookie the king and dBs got the special mystery prize, must be quite a series of excitement. The first fish does look like a red tilapia (尼罗红), it's pretty big too. The crayfish must be really honored to be shot like a superstar model, look at all the angles!

And I think Rookie's reel could use some servicing by now.

ya, my alivio 1000 was previously damaged by a unstoppable monster, now semi-retire liao.

why is it that the fun is always after i go home

btw sorry if i was abit not responsive on that day... was very tired... something happened in the aftnoon...

Here's the 2nd part of the cr from Tere.

Another baby meow landed by rookie while I was fishing opposite the boys.
Trying out for kims.
Mission failed yet again ... will keep trying.

Tere, Raspiritz, Arsenal, dBs and Simon went back to FW3 the next day ~
Continued our Mekong Cat Hunt !

Simon took the lead again with a fresh water catfish.
Though not much fight ...but it did gave us some excitement.

The day/nite was slow to begin with ... fishy did not have the appetite to feast at all.
I had the opportunity to walk around FW3 ... look look here ... see see there.
There's these two huge black dog locked in a big cage just next door... do not look friendly at all ...
stare right at me when I tried to snap a pic of the bua liping fruit tree which was planted just next to the cage.

Finally ... raspiritz broke the silent nite with a silent take.
The fish just speeded off crossing two lines.
The other two boys burnt off their line to allow raspiritz to fight his long waited fish.
He was enjoying his moment for a split second but ...the expected happened again.
Line snapped and there goes the fish !

Simon ended the night with a fat grass carp.

Well .. . the fishes know X'mas round the corner and they keeping their appetite for turkey !

Merry Christmas 2008

Handlinefishing & partner Fishingnewsroom had a wonderful gathering at FW3.
The handliners and the fnrians.
The pirates and the L.K (Long Kang) Team.
Got to put some faces to the nicks which we are familiar with.
We meet almost everyday in cyber but sadly we do not know each other in real life.
One good example is Fishor who was fishing just next to us.
Total stranger feel ... with some smile and casual chit chat that follows ...
OMG ! we are cyber friends!

It was a wonderful X'mas evening spend together with fellow friends and kakis.
I'll take this opportunity to thank everyone who came and celebrated X'mas with us.
Thank you Holy for the chocolate.
Thank you Tere for the nice grape juices and champagne.
Thank you siong for making the arrangement with the LK team.
Not forgetting the crew of FW3 ... you guys did a great job.
Providing us a hassle free BBQ venue and service.

For those kakis who were not able to join us ...
there is always another time.
Chinese New year just round the corner so don't feel sad ...
more fun coming on the way !
