Hi,

I have been fishing at bedok jetty for many many times and i can only catch alot of tamban.. I often use 2 hook apollo rig with prawn meat and LSBF with tamban. I have also tried sotong bits, back of the Prawn etc.. But couldnt catch anything so far..

Any tips for groupers, chermins, snappers, stingray etc.?

Btw does the direction the hook is facing matter for apollo rig

One thing to note that there are a lot of bait steals around the jetty. So you got to keep checking your baits often to ensure that its still there. The fish you want won't take an empty hook when it finally swims pass your rig. Try fishing on the incoming tide especially a few hours before the tide peaks, pay more attention when the bite rate increases. Yes, this includes bait stealers. They're a sign of active feeding period. When you're live baiting, make sure you take all steps to ensure that the fish will stay alive in the water after casting. This means keeping minimal injury to bait fish from catching it to casting it. Don't cast too hard when using live baits.

well there are fishes all around the jetty, i have seen chermins landed at the middle of the jetty, so it really doesnt matter where you cast your line out. Its more of a preference in my opinion. cheers!

Going bedok jetty soon.

So i guess i will try around 3rd shelter or if crowded i will go to the end, hooks size 8

So basically i have 2 rods so the longer one will be used with a LSBF rig with live/dead tamban a

And the shorter rod with 2 hook apollo rig with whole dead prawn(will try to find the smaller ones) and if run out will use cut up pieces of prawn.

Hmm isit ok

as for the hook size i believe size 2-1/0 is fine, as for the prawn cubes there will be lots of baitstealers so be sure to rebait your hooks.
your rod setup seems alright to me! make sure to secure your rods properly, later when a fish take your bait your rod wont fly into the waters!

Hi KBL,
During the day, uptide, would suggest live prawns, 2 hook apollo rig with size 1/0 - 2/0 hooks for chermin.

I would not recommend whole dead prawn. If you like to catch smaller fishes, you could try size 8 hooks with prawn cubes. You gotta rebait quite often as there are lotsa bait stealers around. Would suggest a 4 hooks apollo so that you would not need to rebait so often. There are losta sneaky fishes just below the jetty, but u gotta be fast.

Do present your bait well for LSBF if you are using dead tamban.
