Hello all, I've just registered to this forum just to ask some questionss.

May I know the depth for both bento and traps that are best suitable for crabbing? And if the best depth, is seabed. Will the trap/bento get stuck by the seaweed or god knows what!

I've done crabbing before when I was young with my dad. I stopped for a very long time and currently I feel like going crabbing again!

Many thanks!! :)
Btw I'm also testing if the forum is dead, I realise the last post or reply is somewhere back @ feb this year ;( so if your a crabber and you have an account here. Say holah!!

what kind of crabs u aiming to catch mud crab or flower?
if mud crab just deploy yr cages near the shoreline or swamps.
for flowers the deeper the better coz big ones mostly at deeper waters.

as for the trap i prefer using the oval green colour 1, crab go in
hard to escape for bento crabs can run away anytime.

Aiming for mud crabs and my idea place of designation is bedok jetty. But do the traps have the hit the bottom to get the best results?

One more question is that does the rectangular. Trap collapse for easier transportation?

I remember my latest trip was about last year. Fishing and crabbing I've gotten nothing except some look like triangular fish and a small mud crab :( I when quite deep in to the jetty too.

Try deploying your cages near mangroves if you want to aim for mud crabs, your cage has to be stationary for the crabs to home jn on the bait.
As for the rectangular cage, when folded it just becomes longer

Sungei api api can try too, for crabbing u also have to plan your dates according to the tides, for me i would prefer 0.something for low tide till 2.8-3.2 for high tide
