Nice job recapturing it! well at least the size made up for the lack of meat :P did you try pressing the shell to see if its soft?

Thanks! Yes the size made up for the meat :P I didn't get to press the second time, it escaped into a small hole which led to the sea but I put my hand in to pull it out, then it pinched my hand :/ I just transferred it into the cooler box after that. The PRC beside me foul hooked a female and I kinda got jealous, they had a cast net and I didn't want them to have if I released it

That's a big one, it must be fate that the crab is to die at your hands.

Yeah, don't noodle the crab out of the hole with your bare hands, especially one this size.

Get a thick metal clothes hanger and reshape it into a long hook, it's pretty useful for such a purpose.
Off topic: And I added one more crab avatar for you crab fanatics.

Oh wow, I would love to use your picture of the mud lobster. You've got a clean shot of it too.

Thanks for the picture, I'll put it up soon. I've tried digging its mound before but it went quite deep down so I gave up. Did you spot this lobster out in the open?

Yay! Thank you! Yes, it was out in the open, I saw it in the middle of the road after I came out of the bushes. After I picked it up a taxi drove by

The last photo is when I returned it into the water but it came back out a while later, and walked all the way back to where I was, then into a pile of leaves. It was also the first time I actually seen a mud lobster

That's lucky of you, I always wanted to see one myself but all I see are their mounds. I wonder why it was in the middle of the road, perhaps in search of a better area where there are more hot lobster babes.
