Came home with the feels for a home cooked dinner but the fridge was empty except an old bag. In it were a few fishes that spent the past 2-3 Christmases with me so I couldn't bear to eat them. I brought one on a field trip, and fastened its seatbelt for a wet crash landing. Anyway, you get the idea.

I'm curious about the fishes you kept that long, how is the flesh texture like after its thawed? Good catch on the flower crab, the smaller swimmer crab is edible but they don't grow big like flower crabs can.

Use the fish as bait! Can save that few bucks!

I didn't keep track of how long they have been in there but two years is a conservative estimate. I only used one eeltail catfish that day, chopped into 3 pieces. I have a few others in there like orange spotted rabbitfish, golden travelly, I think I have something called gurama? and.. a brown soon-hook-looking fish that croaks. Meat texture, in my experience it depends on the fish, but mostly they stay the same texture wise but there's a very strong freezer smell and the kind of stink ah laus will praise, I have to triple bag it. But most fishes I bring back are intended as bait

I have seen bigger swimmer crabs but didn't bother to bring them back, the effort to deshell it probably outweighs the meat if I had to guess.

The nets are as heavy as they look! I have 5 of the rectangle ones, 3 of the oval ones and so Soooo many wooden ones. But I only bring 3-4 nets on a normal trip.

Ah I see, it does make perfect crabbing bait.
