Hi bros got myself 2 semi-circle and 1 rectangle green cage for crab.. went a few times, so far, the only bait that attracted crabs is CHICKEN .. dunno why so weird, followed the guides to buy fish. Also bought sotong and chicken, just anyhow throw in, in the end...

Fish - 0 catches

Sotong - lots of fishes (catfish, and some other small thing)

Chicken - 3 crabs ( small and medium sizes )

I was crabbing at punggol jetty, the main jetty there. Dunno should i try other place in punggol? I'm a student so can't go very far, usually cycle around punggol only... Advice please!! :sweatdrop: :yay:

Hmm it could be that the placement of the cages, eg. A certain spot that you throw your cages at, and you're consistently catching crabs could be that there is some kind of structures for the crabs to hide and with your cage near their home, they are attracted to your bait. but then again I am not familiar with crabbing at punggol, so I'm not sure of how's the condition like over there. ;/

The reservoir there used to hold lots of decent sized flower crabs many years back , but they are gone now. You could try Changi boardwalk, sembawang jetty for crabbing, it's gonna be tiring for you lol, especially with all that gear you're carrying xD

Don't bother with punggol jetty because it over-crabbed, probably by me :p but honestly the rate there is quite terrible especially for mud crabs. That's not to say that punggol doesn't have its secrets. Punggol is sandy, for a place like that you want to look out for rocky areas with a lot of hiding spaces, set your traps at low tide and the rest will come naturally :D Otherwise you can try: the bridge at changi point, changi kelong walk and sungei api api.
