Homemade reels

Post by Madman2014 »

Just finished carving a few hand line reels out of a tea box, will have pictures up by tomorrow. Already have one rigged up with 10lb test. Hope I can try it out befor it gets too cold to fish lol.

That's pretty neat and it's cost effective. The only drawback is that you probably can't cast directly out from the spool like the ones you bought. I bet it's very well suited for your catfishing. ;)

Lol I bought the yoyo for ocean fishing, I first got into it when I was about 6. We were standing on a bridge that crossed over a lake and saw a bunch of brim(Bluegills) and I had my tackle box in the car, the rest is history. :) Its been a while since I've used a hand line but I hope to change that soon. :sweatdrop:

I am fishing more with rod and reel now but I always find myself reaching for my handline whenever the situation or place allows it.

Is there any particular species of fish you like to target?

I'm more into saltwater fishing and I love reef fishing. Nothing particular but tuskfish, snappers and emperors always get me excited! :D
