do you actually need one for LURING or SURFCASTING??? it is so complicating.

its very tough for Oinkie to suggest the appropriate. anyway FYI. if you intend to use one reel for both, unless you have 2 drums, else, its impossible to cast with the line dia fine enough for luring not compromising your casting distance yet the line strength enough for surfcasting. and also, the reel's mass. to cast with a heavy reel and luring . . . sounds more like joints breaking and cartilage wearing.

I would suggest you get a Shimano Torium 16/20 reel. Can use for surf casting and offshore. There's a couple of used ones over at FK with reasonable condition. Personally use a Torium 14 for offshore not bad.
