Re: southern islands set up
Apollo rig will be a good choice to start with. Many spots in southern islands have rocky bottom so you might want to pay attention to your line especially when you're drifting. The current today can be pretty fast, so make sure you get big enough sinkers to help your rig reach the bottom. LSBF or ranggong are also viable rigs, especially in places with strong current.
Good luck on your boat trip!

Re: southern islands set up
hook size 5, weight depending on current... i will adjust my weight according to the current... i use SC 5, kinda of weight. but if u use hk hook, use a smaller size.... i alway fish on southern island almost every sun, if u wana hook up sagai, queenie, try the sabaki hook.... light setup will do. if u wana go bottom, try apollo rig. last sunday, i caught 2kg plus kaci, 1 kg plus kaci, parrot, grouper... last week catch was gd... at least 1kg fish.
