I finally got to work on an alcohol stove ever since Tere showed me a youtube link on how to make one. This is my first attempt, it's a little clunky but it works. I didn't put a wick in it so the fire is a little small. I really like its portability and low running cost. Perfect for camping/fishing trips where you already have lots of fishing equipment to drag along.
It doesn't stand very well against wind unlike a fire from fuel tablets can, but it's very clean and doesn't dirty or burn the surroundings.

Re: Self made stove
You can do that or just blow it off, but you will need to drain off the remaining fuel. I would just let it use up all the the fuel and die off itself.ant wrote:looks nice. how to shut off the stove? just cover?
First you'll need to catch me a fish to cook and enough for the whole lot of us to eat.dBs™ wrote:Ooh ... you actually did it. Nice !
