Although giant trevallies do come in schools the more commonly sighted trevallies at the jetty are usually the bumpnose trevally and also queenfish. Giant trevallies can be caught on a variety of ways including artificial lures and jigs. For baiting, live prawns or tambans are good baits to catch them.

Yes, both will work and I've caught them on bottom rigs on several occasions too.
