I am also wondering if I can keep it in a fishtank at home :sweatdrop:
It is more hardy than the tamban as it does not die that quickly. :)

Seems to be the most common ponyfish at bedok jetty.
Simply swing a tamban rig (if its a "bedok jetty" tamban rig is used you dont even need bait) in between the pillars in the middle of the jetty
When the current carries the rig for abt 8 seconds you can close the bail and wait, the ponyfishes would all come to bite if they are around, the bites are like really fast vibrations, even "buzzing". Then you can strike and lift 2/3 out at once
Considered as "thrash fish" by many because they steal bait and are covered with a thick coat of slime which sticks to your hands. Wear gloves/use cloth when handling if you dont want to get the slime on your hands
If you intend to keep them, NEVER put them in your livebait tank especially if you use an aerator. The slime clouds the water and kills the other fish faster, if you use an aerator be prepared for a mass of thick slime bubbles covering your tank...
Biggest ones ive seen are around the size of tambans and are nice when fried
Die very fast out of water so if releasing, get past the slime and unhook quickly
Blur sotong

Yes, they often too small for consumption unless you're making soup out of it or something. Yes, they hang very close to the jetty pillars, so I usually retrieve my jig back up before it drifts near the pillars.

Ponyfishes are actually nice eating fish but many species are small in size. They have a coat of my mucus on their body, some people find it icky.
