Barramundis can more often be found in brackish water or mangrove habitats. Rivermouths where freshwater meets the sea tend to have mullets which are one of their favourite food. They also eat other small fishes and crustaceans that can be found in the abovementioned habitat.

You won't find many such places to fish on the mainland, or at least to be able to fish legally due to rapid urban development. The rivers of Changi, Pandan and Jurong are still decent places to fish for them if you have the patience. Pulau Ubin is also a good place to hunt for them as well St John's Island.

That is mostly true. The regulars there would rig up a handline and just direct drop with live prawn to target for the barramundi.

Kim takes lures pretty well as compare to other fishes.

Guess is the movement that entice them to strike?

Mangroves or estauries are common places to find them, that makes Ubin an excellent place to look for them. Generally, you may find more of them on the northern to north-eastern side of Singapore due to the brackish water they favour

A lot of fish farms there breed barramundis, there will be some escaping from holes in the nets as well as religious groups purchasing them in bulk and releasing them in the surrounding waters.
