I've observed lots of archerfishes at Kallang basin in the past as well as in the canals. Two species of archerfish can be found there but I had some pretty bad luck in catching the spotted archerfish. :( Show us your pet pics.

i caught a huge archer fish with a jhook and some lumo beads no bait!!! it was on the surface so i let my hook "swim" on the surface and bam! fish on. bout 17cm

Nice, they're very curious surface feeders and very particular on their diet. I know they fall for flies but lumo beads is something new. 0.o

yeah lol i left the lumo beads under the sun 4 the whole afternoon and the time i caught the fish was evening so it looked like a glow in dark bug struggling in the water ;)

Heh, that makes some sense. I bet the archerfish was thinking "hey, there goes a firefly!". :lol:

They can stay in brackish and saltwater. So yeah, if the river is connected to the sea, you may find them there.
