It is Halichoeres bicolor: Image. There is a black spot between the 6th and 7th dorsal spine (IP and through much of TP) and a lateral stripe.

Wow, you're good TimL. Thanks for the identification, I couldn't find that fish on fishbase myself. :o Welcome to HLF TimL, hope you'll stay to help us with more fish identifications. :gift: Are you a marine biologist?

:sweatdrop: Even though I have a biology degree, taken a few classes in zoology and ichthyology, and have read widely on marine organisms, I'm no marine biologist...(I'm more of a gene/molecular bio guy)...Just someone who's an amateur fisherman and interested in identifying what he catches or sees. Tough to find work as a marine biologist nowadays which is why I decided to focus on genetics and cell biology. The former's still my dream career/job though...need to take up scuba to complete the whole picture. :)

I can see you have great interest in marine life and have taken it this far, good for you. For me, I've never even taken a general biology class before, let alone anything to do with ichthyology. I am however interested in fishes and other marine life, discovering more about fishes is an additional interest on top of catching them. ;)
