How large can they grow? are they good eating fish? Can be used as bait? Cause at west coast park keep getting this type of fishes >< all very small

They can definitely be eaten but most people won't grade them as a quality fish. For local waters, ~15cm would be considered big but they can grow a lot larger. They're also ranked the top few fishes for stealing baits.

One interesting bits about this bait stealer ...
Places where they roam are also places where you will find groupers.
I do not know how truth this is coz ... both local and overseas boatman always say ...
When you catch a kelong chi ... you find BIG grouper lurking around.
And this fish can be used to target big grouper mama !

i've caught this fish before. my palm size? which is around 18cm? and its good eating fish too. but i caught those at Coney Island.

no, there are plenty of them! you can get like around 10 of em in 1hour? which is alot for a palm size. and its a good eating fish. just fried it.

Haha i caught a lot @ west coast canal seems dats it is a good place for their populations coz i once caught abt 14 of them allin a size of abt 7 to 16cm long..

And wad peace say is true if there is jarbua Terapon there lies a baramudi near them coz i caught 1 baramudi at a size of 500gm to 1kg... I caught my baramudi by chance coz i was actually reeling the jarbua when i saw a silver color thing rushing for it so i stop a moment and snap it when for it...

It pays well to be observant eh ?, that'll cost u a catch of the day ! i always see nothing when i look into the water, dunno why

I believe this should be a largescaled therapon instead. Notice the number of bars on its tail and the lines on its body are straight.
