Wah !!! Nice nice nice !
Plants not a problem ... it's the shrimps.
Careful what fishes you keep else they might just end up as food.
Try adding a lobster ... night time ... damn sweeh one when they come out to play.
Then your shrimp shrimp ... will be in danger. lol !

Re: my new fish tank
When there is light and food ... living things grow ... lol !
Don't leave the lights on too long and I think u use only fertilized "soil" ?
Proportion should be 2:1
Two parts of normal unfertilized soil to one part of fertilized soil ...
or ... you can use just a small amt near the plants.
That should curb the growing and not used out the fertilizer too soon.
You wont want to disturb the tank once it's settle down.

Re: my new fish tank
Heh, now I can see them. The little garden is really nice, how I love to be the shrimps hiding in there.
Re: my new fish tank
dbs, y my shrimps playing dead uh. morning i saw this dead shrimp ( leg face up, motionless) , at night its like alive ). nb for the past few days, i already remove 3 shrimps which i assumed were dead.
Re: my new fish tank
hahahaha ... very interesting isn't it ?
I used to have a fish that's good at playing dead.
Will sail down the tank like a fallen leaf and lay dead till you stepped away from the tank. lol !
Smart little creatures that really amused you at times.
I suspect the problem could be due to high water temperature ?
Usually will need chiller for rearing shrimps ...
You can try adding a few pcs of ice cubes to the tank every day ...
Helps keep the temperature down ...
And melted ice cubes actually tops up the water level for you.
Or you can freeze a 500ml btl of water and place it in the tank to chill down the water.
