hmm not really.... you should say that there is a higher chance to get large pavons than PBsPeace wrote:I've not fish that many peacock basses and the pavon to draw a conclusion but they seem to fight pretty much the same to me so far. But since you can typically find larger Pavon than a Peacock Bass, I guess that does make them perceived to be better fighters.

errr maybe my line is too strong or something else, i always pump the fish in. it only fight when it is near the land or shore ...Peace wrote:I've not fish that many peacock basses and the pavon to draw a conclusion but they seem to fight pretty much the same to me so far. Re: [Freshwater] Peacock Bass
maybe its because when you pump the fish in, the fish is confused and does not know what to do until when the water gets shallower then it realises it is in danger.... pumping fish is a good way to bring fish in quickly but you lose the time that the fish needs to fight well to let you realise the true power of the fishpoptiger wrote:errr maybe my line is too strong or something else, i always pump the fish in. it only fight when it is near the land or shore ...Peace wrote:I've not fish that many peacock basses and the pavon to draw a conclusion but they seem to fight pretty much the same to me so far. Re: [Freshwater] Peacock Bass
I have quit freshwater fishing but i will still comment. Peacock bass fighting power is way better that Pavon (for me personally)
Pavon will normally attack sinking bait that are big in size (size that they can swallow) and with bright colour. But peacock bass is normally surface type. so using fly fish will get big peacock bass.

Re: [Freshwater] Peacock Bass
I was watching this show on youtube called Addictive Fishing and realise that when they caught a PB they called out the name of the Pb..
To my surprised theres actually 3 diff type of PB the 1 that in the pix was actually called 3 Bar PB.. Due to 3 strip on their body and it senses why the amohs called the PB 3 bar...
