A new model from Major Craft ... love this Giant Killing though the name pretty strong with 杀气 "xia qi"

Love the overall combo compared to Crosstage, another model from Major Craft.
Still prefer black with silver and red binding over crosstage's light blue.

Decided to go for 5'8" , 1-3 rod with a jig weight of 60-120g ...
Intend to use this for light jigging in local waters and Rompin.
Comes with Fuji K-series stainless steel frame SIC ring.
And the Fuji DPS reel-seat double nut system present in most Major Craft models.

Retailing at S$267 for the above rod model, it cost S$60-70 more compared to similar range Crosstage.
Will update review once it has tasted salt water ... which is ... tomorrow ! :shh:

Good morning HLF ~ :coffee:

It's a wonderful morning with a nice cuppa kopi to begin with and thunder as background music ... what a nice start for the week !

A short review here for this Giant Killing.
Tested it in Southern Waters ... verdict : The bend is very nice !
An inverted C ... kena bullied by big birds !!! ::x:

If you are looking at thrill fishing, this rod definitely gonna send you going O.M.G ...
And that I am referring to "strong" fish like big parrot, ebek etc ...
Lost twice to a big bird, the 2nd time managed to win the 1st burst but lost on the 2nd ...
Can be a bit challenging but definitely easy for small to medium catches.

We were right to go for 5'8" ... it is not too soft and I would say just nice for local jigging in our Southern waters.
Definitely thrilling to be used for Changi Offshore, and we are going to test that out.
Jig size 30-40g is nothing to the rod ... and you can only feel the weight when using 80-100g jigs.
Well ... it's made to withstand 60-120g !

To upz the thrill index, can op for a 1-3 at 6'3"
Will be good choice for playing jig heads.

If you guys are interested in Southern Islands light jigging, you should try Henry's boat. If you're lucky, you might put your Giant Killing to test with a Giant Trevally. ;)

Erm not here....maybe afte i come back frm Taiwan and not on this post.

i noticed the rod but is extended from the reel holder, is that for leverage in fighting the fish or for more more lifting power?
I also have yet to see this brand in my tackle shop, is it new or...exotict?

Thanks for reading my review and welcome to HLF.

This rod is definitely worth the extra bucks than a Crosstage, also from Major Craft.
Be it colour combo or overall specs ... it's a good choice.

Will be taking it out to Changi waters soon for testing ...
