Food Demumidifier ~ CNY Goodies for Doggy
Doggy Bak Kuah
Bak Kwa or sweet meat as some calls it .. is a finger food which every household will have during Chinese New Year.
Now that I have Ezidri FD1000, it's time my two precious Westies boys get some CNY goodies while we tucks into ours ...
Of course ... theirs will be no salt, no sugar, no oil ... plus no preservatives and no coloring !
I am doing it from basic so a lot or preparation works went into making just a small amount of bak kwa.
It is definitely worth the time and effort to see them eating healthier food.
First we will need some lean beef, I am using beef leg from our local wet market stall, selling at $9/Kg.
You may replace the meat with meat of your choice like lamb or pork.
Wash the meat, removed all fats from it and cut into smaller chunks.
Notice the weight of the beef after removing all the fats, 1.931kg.
It will be much easier if you have a meat mincer at home ...
Not a problem if you do not have one, just use a chopper and do it in small portion.
Chopped the meat till it is minced.
Note the same amount of meat after being mined weight lesser at 1.791kg.
140g was lost during mincing process ...
As I am using Ezidri FD1000, 350g of minced beef makes one piece of dehydrate meat.
Using a soft mesh, lay it on the dehydrating tray and rolled the meat evenly onto the soft mesh with a rolling pin.
Tidy up the edges and it's ready to be dehydrated.
Set temperature at 65C and dehydrate for 4-5 hours.
Dehydrated meat will stick to the soft mesh.
Tear it off lightly and cut into desired size.
Pack in air-tight container and stored in a dry place.
No refrigeration is required if it is fully dehydrated.
