Re: Tackle
Eupro Salty Fighter 8-20lbs ($50 dollars) with Shimano Aernos XT (~$70+). Go for a better reel if you have the budget.

As requested,
To join main line(braided) to leader(mono)
Double uni knot
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0WigqdKpE7M
Fg Knot
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ueatfyziKRE
The uni knot will be much easier and faster but not so reliable then fg.
I want to request for some sch fees liao

Re: Tackle
Vd, I tied the fg knot until now, tried it 2nd, 1st time wif youtube as guide, 2nd time on my own, hee hee. Vd I love u
Re: Tackle
Glad that u got it right, its a pretty reliable knot, best if you tie it before you go fishing. You could exclude swivel in this case if u decided to use one rig throughout the whole trip. This knot is also commonly used for jigging/luring.
Err.. you should love the video, it teaches you well, not me
