I'm not too sure about the difference between an aji or mebaru rod, but i do know that both rods come in either tubular or solid tip. Tubular is supposed to boast a higher sensitivity, and the solid tip has a better hookup rate. Sorry i can't help you much! :(

Edit. i found this link and i hope it helps! you gotta translate it tho. http://www.fishing-station.jp/news/soug ... php?id=395

I know the poundage is 1-3lbs and the pe rating is 0.15-0.3, but I only have 1 1000 sized reel, rarenium 1000s with gamakatsu luxxe line 8lbs pe probably 0.4-0.6, will it be a suitable match?

That's a really light rod! hahas. Your overall setup will be fine, just ease off the drag a wee bit and hang on to your rod when the fish runs! :p Once you feel more confident in controlling the fish, you can downsize your line to something even lighter

Thanks haha
Just worried the line too heavy and thick for the rod then it breaks
Abt the lures, can use those japanese style aji worms? The thin long ones...
Also, will standard ul lures work? Like poppers, minnows etc

@murasame Your rod will be fine as long you don't high stick the rod Let the rod do it's job of fighting the fish and refrain from aggressively pumping the fish up.

As for the japanese style aji worms, you definitely can use it however i'm unsure of what species you can catch apart from the horse mackeral as i've just picked up UL fishing not too long ago and have only fished in Adelaide.

i've not use that rod, so i can't really comment on whether it can work the UL lures. The only concern is that the rod tip is too soft and you can't work the lure properly.

Welcome to HLF forum Verslures! :D If you have any questions, feel free to post any queries you have about fishing and the admins here will do their best to reply to your post, do remember to share your CR's too ;)
