[Freshwater] Zebra Tilapia

Re: [Freshwater] Zebra Tilapia
Yes they were cooked the same way. I would say the common Tilapia meat is more refine. The Zebra Tilapia seem a bit more chewy and taste whilst seem a bit blend compared to the common Tilapia.

Re: [Freshwater] Zebra Tilapia
Thanks for sharing. The Zebra's body does feel tougher than the common Tilapia, maybe it has something to do with it.
Re: [Freshwater] Zebra Tilapia
I subsequently caught and cook a few more and they were fried and were indeed better than the normal Tilapia. I think it has to do with how I cook it the first time which makes me feel the normal Tilapia is better which is obviously a wrong conclusion. Sorry.

Perhaps it has something to do with the locality of the fish caught as well. Have you tried tilapias from brackish waters? I've met two middle-aged anglers fishing outside the Pandan reservoir dam specifically for tilapias. They swore it was the best tasting fish.
