ohh..... well most of the released fishes die as they can't cope with the change of the enviroment so chances are veri slim haha.......

I understand that these fishes can live up to 20 yrs in captivity.

I heard many ah laus often go into reservoirs in the night just to catch juvenile Arowanas. One of them told me they fetch good price and attracted alot of people to trek deep into remote parts of the reservoir just to catch them.

I can crop out the fish but I don't do freshwater fishing nowadays. This fish is edible, but it holds much more value among aquarium hobbyists.
