Re: Fishing Line - lbs
Hi Foli, I'll recommend 20lb-30lb as Peace mentioned. Typically, a reel size of 3000 should able to load your 300m, depends on the line diameter. As for rod, depends on your playing style, if you wanna bait, lure, cast far, sensitivity, etc. Just match the rod to the line lb. Lighter line although i...

Re: Fishing Line - lbs
Always enjoy reading replies from Peace. Always things to learn! Heavier setup to aim biggies - may end up empty handed at of the session, but you're be glad that you're with that setup if biggies really visit. Heavier setup also means more tiring since you'll need heavier sinker, etc to ...

Re: Fishing after Pasir Gudang Chemical Spillage?
Agree on fishing at southern only. Just kinda unsure what fish comes from Malaysia and particular near the contaminated area. Will assume further north Malaysia will be ok but whatever we import may not be so far north since it's probably of higher cost. Hard to totally avoid eating fish. If are to ...

Fishing after Pasir Gudang Chemical Spillage?
We know that there's a seriously illegal chemical disposal at pasir gudang in Malaysia. Looking at the map, it seems pretty near to eastern part of Singapore. Just wondering what's your opinions on both - the safe consumption of the fish import from Malaysia, and - whether it is still generally good...

Re: Recommendations for rod for shore light game and luring
Not an expert on this, but some thoughts came up: - < 10g for shore casting, may also means you can't cast too far due to the wind. - To cast < 10g at shore, will most probably need something long and whippy. Couldn't be too stiff else will be harder to get the distance on light lure. - When it's lo...

Re: how many feet rod is suitable for fishing
Considerations: - if you have transport to travel to your fishing spot. a 7" is a pain to carry in a bus or MRT. - 1 Piece more sensitivity than 2 piece - long rod gives problem when casting in tight environment like trees around you. - long rods can cast further. Personally, i find longer rods may ...

Thanks Peace.
Guess the fish farm is pretty critical to maintain certain population of the fishes here in our waters.
What's with the mass release from the religious groups? This is new to me. What religious and release what fish? I've heard release of tortoise and birds only. lol

Gong Xi Fa Cai! Q: Different period of the Year?
Happy Lunar New Year to all! Wish everyone best of health and wealth! Was looking at some local offshore CR and seems like it's having strong wind and current for few months. I also remember hearing people saying it's Gao's season, dunno what other fish season, etc. Just wondering if there's a guide...

Thanks ilurbtambans and Peace for the great input! Appreciate the sharing. Give me good idea on how the line is manually guided and loaded. Now it sounds scary on the feathering and thumbing... Have to agree on the ease to sell of 1500 compare to 1000 as always shown on FK Classified. Few more quest...
