Not too sure if it's the season right now but you're right that they're active during the night. They can be caught during the day as well.

Belt fish look like Eels with a barracuda head right?
These guys are often caught near the pillars...Live tamban or strip bait might attract them.
Just be sure to use wire trace or Circle hooks to avoid the teeth.
Since the current is usually strong at night, use a heavier sinker or place where the current is going to avoid snags.
A robust set up(10-20 lbs for 0.5-2kg fish and 10-40/50Lbs for anything bigger)
Dont forget, barracuda stalk the jetty too,so prepare to lose rigs..
Urrrgh, no time to fish now~

Hey ... limfish ah, I thought u awol liaoz ~ it's so nice to see you posting !!

Was talking about you last night with Peace ... nothing special just old uncle and aunty gossiping ;p
Nice input there regarding the belt fish ...
Those are nice to fight and nice to eat but not many ppl know or like to eat due to little meat and many bones.
But they are delicious when fried.

See you around limfish boi ~ ;)
