BBcode Tutorial (eg, inserting images, videos, text format)

bbcodes are special functions that allows you to have additional features and formatting in your post. The default bbcodes available in the forums are:

b : bold enclosed text
i : italicize enclosed text
u : underlines enclosed text
color : adds colour to enclosed text
size : sets font size
quote : puts enclosed text in a box
code : puts enclosed text in a box, including bbcode (bbcode in code box will not be translated into functions)
list : formats text as indented list with/without bullets
img : inserts image(hotlinked) into post
scaleimg : inserts large(>720pixels width) image(hotlinked) into post - (new bbcode)
url : inserts a weblink into post
centre : aligns text or images at middle - (new bbcode)
right : aligns text or images to the right - (new bbcode)
line : inserts a horizontal line - (new bbcode)
s : strikes through a text (visible cancellation) - (new bbcode)
youtube : embeds youtube video into post - (new bbcode)
googlevid : embeds google video into post - (new bbcode)
edit : enclose text in a box for editing purpose - (new bbcode)
spoiler : Hides content that can be revealed by clicking on a button - (new bbcode)

Note:
bbcodes are usually implemented in two parts, having a opening tag in the beginning of the desired text and a closing one at the end of it. Take not that the ending tag has an additional "/" in the tag.

How to use:
The content within the code box shows the actual composing message prior to being posted. You can copy the entire content in the code box and put it in a new post to see its effect.

Color - Text colours
Default colours: darkred, red, orange, brown, yellow, green, olive, cyan, blue, darkblue, indigo, violet, white, black
You may also colour your text by highlighting it, and click on the "Font color" to choose the desired colour from colour palette.

You have to use really [size=9]small[/size] hooks to catch mullets. But with [size=18]big[/size] hooks, you can catch big mullets!

Note: "Link to image" must be a direct link to the image and must end with an image extension like .jpg, .gif, etc and the link cannot contain "=" or "?".

scaleimg - hotlink images with width larger than 720 pixels
Usage:
Note: This bbcode resizes image to 720 pixels width for images larger than that. It also embeds a link to the full size picture onto the image itself. Avoid using this bbcode whenever possible because scaling down of images decreases viewing picture quality.

This bbcode encloses a string of text in a box to differentiate from the original post. It becomes handy if you want to differentiate new edited text to the original post, such as when you update a post.

spoiler - Hides content that can be revealed by clicking on a button
This bbcode will hide content like text, images or video and a button will be shown instead. The content will be revealed when the button is clicked. This gives viewers the freedom to view or not view that particular content, such as an answer to a quiz.
