Nile tilapia

Post by gohyuheng »

Hello all~ long time no see :D been busy with tests and studies lately >< Anyway i've been raising a few nile tilapias i caught from a canal, and they all have been doing fine. But one day, one of the nile tilapias seem to have got attacked, and was missing chunks of flesh and skin ( I think its the doing of the gar or the bichir ). It turned a weird red and white colour, and i expected it to die soon. But one day, when i woke up, it was a bright orange!

The normal tilapias.

The 'changed' tilapia. It turned into the yellow tilapias, which i thought were a different specie! does this mean that the all those yellow tilapias and nile tilapias were the same after all?
And right. Haven't been doing much fishing lately, any good fishing spots to share? ^^
I wanna catch a big fish~~~~

hmm the first pic looks more like a hybrid of flowerhorn and nile tilapia, and probably you caught the red devil cichlid without knowing? cos the colour would turn pale after catching it and being out of whater, and once it settles down the colour comes back

I think so too that the original fish isn't the Nile Tilapia, but still the two fish looks very different. Are you sure you didn't mix up pets? 0.o
