Offshore 29th July'11
Manage to squeeze out some time out from school for an Changi offshore trips
Was super last minute trip booking the trip on a Wednesday 2days before our trip!
Called the boat man & he laughed!
Must be some group have backed out of their trip! (Thankfully)
Boatman: Ah Soon
Anglers: 7Pax
Catches was bad for me & the organizer (caught a Mangrove Jack during the last hour) :\
I was some how consider a zero fighter, not counting some golden marine catfish & small fishes
Sigh, But the company of friends on-board was great!
Anyway let the pictures do the talking, Enjoy
Catches was good for rest onboard, my friends whom don't frequent fish are bring up fishes one after another!
With the highest at 6 fishes!
The fat grouper (over 2kg) was caught just 30 minutes into the trip!!!!!
Shall head back for another offshore in September, when my exams are over
Thanks for viewing
Ps: I'm setting an Angling Club in TP, Do let me know if you are interested! (TP students)

Thanks Sgpu, the club is at it's final stage before commencing :\.
All i need to do is to convince the Students Activity why TP has to be involve in & not just have a private gathering of anglers,
But it the hardest part
any suggestion i can use to write in my proposal? :\

Quite a good catch there. Angling isn't recognized as a serious sports or activity locally, I can understand why you have a hard time convincing the students activity. Perhaps you can relate to how it can help educate anglers with proper and responsible fishing in our reservoirs. ie. use of artificial baits, sustainable fishing, fishing safety and keeping the place clean. It's worth mentioning that other tertiary institutes also have angling clubs as well, approach these clubs and seek their advice.
As more tertiary institutes have their own angling club, it would possible to hold competition among clubs, be it fishing or sports casting. Be sure you're committed to setting up a club, for if the club doesn't run well or long, this club may be harder to reinstate in the future.

Re: Offshore 29th July'11
No worries about that peace, I'm pretty committed to running the club.
But my only worries would be what would be the fate of the club when i graduate :\
As i have noticed that NP's one have been closed. (not sure what was their reason)
As for the sustainable fishing part, i have included that in my proposal!
I really like your competition among school idea! I think i will work on that!
I was told too, (by my lecturer that has spoken to the SA people) that i could include trainers etc.
Wonder if the trainer for fly/lure fishing idea pretty feasible as TP is right located next to bedok reservior :\

That's where your recruitment for members come in, make sure you have students from different years such that the club can be hand over to juniors. Not sure where you'll find trainers, but perhaps you can approach SFAS people to hold clinics for your club from time to time.
Using Bedok Reservoir as a practice ground is definitely viable, but I believe fly fishing is still not permitted in Reservoirs for safety reasons.
