Surf reel

Post by laniku »

Hi,

To match with my Daiwa Hattaras, any suggestion on which surf spinning reel is suitable or should I buy?

- Daiwa saltiga surf spinning reel?
- Daiwa Emblem@Pro?
- Any other reels to recommend?

Cheers

Saltiga Surf has advantage over Emblem, particularly in the weight department and probably smoothness. Emblem does have a faster line retrieval rate than Saltiga, so you'll need to consider what features benefits your style and place of fishing more. You may also look at other Daiwa Surf reels with Quick Drags (QD) if it's important to you. I think Powersurf and Windcast has that but I'm not sure if there are newer models.

Hi laniku, judging from the specs above, the only thing comparable is the Gear Ratio, Weight and the Handling Turn. The rest are more or less the same. I would choose the saltiga surf :p

Hi zufeeqhar, do u mean saltiga(SPINNING), new saltiga(SPINNING) or salitga surf(SPINNING) ? Both the new/old Saltiga cost around 1k and above and the saltiga surf should cost around 600+ 700+ ? i guess (quite an old reel) You can try calling both tackleshop at Changi, they should have it. :p
