Yes, it is illegal. So are most waterways leading to reservoirs. I wonder how many actual freshwater spots are there left in Singapore that allows organic bait fishing.

The rules and guideline are there but it is difficult to enforce them.

Certainly but they can grow rather big and fast. They may also have a tendency to jump out of the tank if they find it too crampy.

Haruans prefer shallower waters compared to Tomans. You're more likely to find them in canals and streams as opposed to reservoirs. If you're fishing in a reservoir though, look for vegetation partially submerged in water or a small shallow pool beside the reservoir bank. Low trees or bushes growing over the reservoir banks are good spots as well.

They can stay in areas where water levels are barely touching their heads. Such places are its food source for small fishes, shrimps and frogs.

It depends if you're baiting or artificial luring, and the environment you're fishing in. You may want to use leader poundage of 30lbs or higher for baiting as possibility of the fish swallowing the hook is more likely than with artificial lures.

Snakeheads have very sharp teeth, they can easily cut your leader.

Both are good lures but I'd say it depends on the spot. If it's shallow and weedy areas, the frog is probably going to work better as it does not get entangled that easily. Buzz bait generates more vibration underwater, it can attract fish attention from a distance even during windy days.
