I believe he means that the fish is on the endangered list of fish species. If you do catch one, it would be wise to release them so they can continue to propagate.

Definitely an introduced species. Freshwater pay ponds usually have this fish, it's inevitable that the will make way into our natural bodies.

Definitely, but it's probably not as common as other catfish.
